Hi Y’all! I’m Michelle Olson, owner of Grape Canvas Parties. I began this adventure just about 11 years ago after a conversation with a couple of friends. They had gone to some paint and sip events and suggested that I give it a try since they know how much I love Art, laughing with friends—and of course sharing wine! Since then, we have joyfully brought countless paint parties to corporations such as Global Mastercard, Aetna, Fidelity Investments, numerous local businesses of all types, restaurants and of course in private homes–Celebrating all types of occasions!
I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Rochester Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in Art Therapy and hold a PhD in Gerontology–working to improve the lives of older adults and those who care for them. I am a New York State licensed, registered and board certified art therapist and have made it my life’s passion to help people express themselves through their own creative process. I encourage Self-expression, Creativity, Exploration, Imagination & Play! (We’re never too old to play!)
I am also a visual artist and I love painting, pastels, photography, and finding old junk (literally found junk 
and using various mixed media to transform it into a creative new life! I also love being in and with Nature, hiking, kayaking and camping.
I have been creating art with people and planning events for 25 years. We are professional, courteous & have vast experience with diverse groups and ages—and we believe it is SO important to laugh! If someone is a lifelong artist or has never painted before…It is ALL GOOD! There is no right or wrong. It’s just about being open, expressing your own creativity & having FUN!
So what makes Grape Canvas Parties Unique?
First, we are a traveling art studio that comes to you! It is so easy!…we bring all the supplies and materials (from set up to clean up), music, a professional PA system (if needed for the space) and of course we offer fun, educational and ecouraging step by step art instruction for you and your guests to follow. We make exceptional service our priority. We never rush you, we personalize each and every event…and There is NO mess left behind…Only good vibes and art!
We always encourage a positive approach to creating as well as each person’s own unique style to come out (oh yes, everyone has one!)
